Michigan business planning: Utilizing social media

On Behalf of | Aug 8, 2015 | Business Formation & Planning |

Love it or hate it, social media is not going to disappear anytime soon. This simple truth can actually be considered good for businesses in Michigan and elsewhere. The many different social media platforms can be great for marketing. When business planning, owners may want to consider how utilizing social media can improve their bottom lines.

One of the fastest growing social media platforms is Instagram, which is said to have gained 150 million users in half the time it took another popular medium — Twitter. Growth has been so great that Facebook moved to acquire Instagram in a billion dollar deal. Since the completion of this acquisition, Instagram now boasts over 300 million active users, which is said to be an increase of approximately 600 percent.

How can a photo sharing platform help with marketing, though? Numerous business owners claim that the simplicity of posting photos to Instagram and the ability to appeal to consumers through the use of personal hashtags has greatly improved their sales. Those whose posts are unique, strange or even controversial tend to quickly gain followers and shares — ultimately increasing their web presence with the assistance of other social media users.

Successful business planning involves considering how different variables may affect one’s company. This includes determining what marketing strategies would offer the greatest return on investment. No matter what one’s business planning needs may be, legal assistance is available to help a company owner in Michigan meet the goals set for his or her business.
